Krispy, The Lotus, and WebEater met each other in a particularly tedious seminar at the outset of their accelerated Masters in Education program.  Over the course of the next year they slowly figured out that they each loved writing.

After they graduated, Krispy and WebEater began writing stories off a shared prompt and reading their raw drafts.  After The Lotus joined their little "write club," their meetings grew into a weekly ritual that helped them survive their first year of teaching.  Murph, Beanbag, and a revolving cast of characters joined when the Cru went remote during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

They've been doing this ever since.
